Ken Hanke,
A new face for quality assurance at RD

In November 2008 Ken Hanke was hired to work as the Quality Assurance Manager at RD Rubber Technology. RD wanted to transition its ISO compliant system to an ISO 9001-2008 certified system. As QA Manager he made sure that the requests from ISO were followed through on and that they complied with the process.

Since RD’s quality system has always been so rigorous, RD became ISO certified in less than 6 months.

Hanke’s philosophy keeps with RD’s tradition that the quality system is owned by everyone in a company and if it is followed properly then it will result in increased productivity and a significantly lower reject rate.

Hanke is adding over 3 decades of experience in the rubber molding industry to RD Rubber Technology’s arsenal. Over the years he has assisted 2 other company’s to become ISO certified. His vast experience in engineering and quality management, has given him a well rounded foundation to work with the team. He brings a certain calm demeanor to the position and brings an engineering perspective to his work. He looks at things in a no nonsense way, keeping the emotions out of it to better solve the issues and move things forward.

He also is called in as part of the manufacturing team, to go over new projects from a quality perspective identifying possible issues that may arise in the manufacturing of the parts to meet the quality standards specified by the customer.

It is always good to have a new set of eyes come in because it gives you another way to look at it. Ken Hanke brings that perspective to RD Rubber Technology.
